Protecting the dignity of working people and supporting the future of community healthcare

The Inazaki Hospital Union is a labor union that advocates for the rights and well-being of those who work at Inazaki Hospital, and aims to create a workplace where everyone can approach their work with peace of mind. By amplifying the voices of staff members in improving the workplace, we contribute to ensuring that healthcare is sustainable and patients, their families, and the community can rely on it with confidence.

What our union values is the dignity of the workers and our responsibility towards regional healthcare. We do not choose between protecting the health and well-being of our staff and providing sincere medical care to our patients. We consider workplaces that can prioritize both aspects and strive to realize them from the perspective of the workers.

To support regional peace from within the workplace

Marasai Hospital is committed to continuing to be a vital clinic for the community, emphasizing not only the early detection of diseases but also prevention and patient interaction. It also provides home nursing visits to support patients’ recuperation in their familiar homes.

Our union emphasizes the need for staff who support this kind of medical care to be able to work without sacrificing their own health and well-being. We believe that by noticing even the smallest changes in patients, sharing the necessary information, and being able to ask questions regardless of job title or position, the time and flexibility necessary for that to occur within the workplace should be ensured.

The desire to "serve the patients" and the staff's demand for appropriate treatment and rest are not in conflict with each other. Rather than relying solely on a sense of responsibility and goodwill, it is important to create a system that allows people to continue working with peace of mind, as this is also essential for the future of regional healthcare.

Turning a single problem into an improvement for the entire workplace

The union works to address issues that affect the lives and dignity of workers, such as wages and working hours, breaks and vacations, workload, fair hiring and evaluation, and the prevention of harassment. We also prioritize an environment where employees can work while balancing their responsibilities with childcare, caregiving, and medical treatment.

We aim to provide a place where anyone who feels uncomfortable raising their concerns at work can feel safe to speak up. Regardless of their job title, employment status, or years of experience, we will respect the client’s wishes and use records and documentation to verify the facts.

Furthermore, we seek the necessary explanations from management on an independent basis and work to resolve issues through methods tailored to the situation, such as consultations, collective bargaining, and consulting with relevant organizations. Not only do we resolve individual issues, but we also examine the underlying operations and mechanisms to create a workplace where the same difficulties do not recur.

Achieve a balance between patient care and the willingness to seek explanations

When handling workplace information related to healthcare, our union carefully handles patient medical information and personnel personal information. When disseminating this information, we distinguish between facts that have been confirmed and our own views, and thoroughly consider the necessity of publication and the impact on the parties involved.

On the other hand, valuing the trust of the local community does not mean not raising a voice when there are problems. For matters that need improvement, we ask with concrete evidence and seek explanation and rectification. Our goal is not to create conflict that hurts anyone, but to create a workplace where we can examine the problem and work towards resolving it.

Protecting the rights of workers has its own important significance. And linking that effort to the peace of mind of those receiving medical care and to the responsibility to the local community is the public interest role that our union aims to fulfill.

The Inazaki Hospital Union continues to be a labor union that values both the employees’ being able to work with peace of mind and the residents in the community being able to receive medical care with peace of mind.
